Police on Hunt for Shooter
HAWAII – Hawaii island police are searching for a suspect in a fatal shooting. The murder occurred early this morning in Puna.
The police responded to a call indicating a man with a gunshot wound was lying in the driveway of a residence on Plumeria Street. Consequently, dispatchers sent officers to the scene at the subdivision. They quickly opened up a murder investigation. As of now, they are actively seeking the shooter.
Officers arrived at the Fern Acres community at around 12:30 a.m. Unfortunately, they found the male victim unresponsive with a gunshot wound. Authorities have identified the victim as Joshua John Santos, 38, of Puna. Hawaii Police Department made the info public in a news release. This occurred after medical personnel pronounced the victim dead.
Detectives associated with the police department’s Area 1 Criminal Investigation Section have launched a second-degree murder investigation. However, the police have not identified any potential suspects in the crime. Moreover, they’ve already embarked on an investigation. In other words, they are pursuing all leads.
